Well….THIS JUST HAPPENED AND I WAS UGLY SOBBING.
I just won Romper ‘s People’s Choice Award during tonight’s Mom 2.0 Summit Iris Awards.
I am floored and excited and honored and humbled and ALL THE FUCKING THINGS.
I love my mom/parenting writing community so much. I’m surrounded by the most badass people filled with more talent, drive and kindness than I ever thought possible.
WHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING??
About 6 years ago I quit a corporate job to follow my dream to write for real and I didn’t even know what I was doing. I figured it out as I went along (still figuring it out) and some amazing writers took my under their wings. I listened and watched and took it all in. And then I started putting pieces of myself out there.
There are so many times I question myself, mostly when I have something rejected or because I’m still waiting for a publisher to fall in madly love with my writing

.But this…
TONIGHT.
THIS IS EVERYTHING and I’m not going to question myself. (I’ll just start again tomorrow, or maybe the next day, IDK.)
Huge congrats to all of the nominees and winners. I am in some ridiculously impressive company.
