This is what it looks like in your 40s.

At least for me. My 30s were bitter sweet. I had my first baby but also went through a divorce. Then things got better and I started getting to know myself again after feeling broken beyond repair. I met an amazing man, married him and had another baby. I’m exhausted and working harder than I ever have in my life.

But I know who I am.

For the first time in many years, I’m comfortable and confident in my own skin. If I get the slightest whiff of bullshit or insincerity, I cut out the source causing it real fast. I only drink good wine and eat good food. I splurge once in a while if there’s something I really want to add to my closet. I’ve learned to be vulnerable and lean on my family & friends instead of pretending I can do it all.
It’s not always easy. In fact it’s mostly hard. But life is hard and the sooner you accept that and realize everyone feels that way, the easier it is to keep going.

But most of all, I work my ass off every single day to show my girls that women can do anything.

We can raise families.
We can be in supportive, healthy relationships.
We can build our own businesses based on our passion instead of relegating to spending our lives in an ill-lit cubicle.
We can have a voice.
We can have power.

Wherever you are in your life, own it. Be yourself, not who people are pressuring you to be. Because I promise you that even though the path of least resistance seems easier, doing things on your own terms, whatever that means for you, is liberating AF. Being a strong woman and knowing it is where it’s at. Go get em!
