We all have our ideas about social media and our kids access to it, and I truly believe it’s subjective. I go back and forth in my head all the time on what I’m comfortable with for my own kids. And the truth is, social media is only growing, so rather than pretend it doesn’t exist, I personally would like to try and find an effective way to parent through it. I have personally seen videos from so many kids (many of which have parents I know) that left me with my jaw on the floor. There’s no way they are paying attention to what their kids are posting and what they’re seeing. Also…. if you love answering uncomfortable questions from your kids well before you’re ready, give them a Tik Tok account. ????????‍♀️ We just pulled the plug (at least temporarily) on our daughter’s account. My latest article for Mommy Nearest is all about tweens & TikTok.
